St.
Lucia is seeking to have bi-lateral talks
with the Venezuelan government on the PetroCaribe initiative, after failing to
attend last weekend's talks. Caribbean leaders met with Venezuelan officials to discuss the agreement in that country last week. Trade and Industry Minister Rufus Bousquet said he has been in touch with the Venezuelan authorities and arrangements are being worked out for a St. Lucian delegation to meet for talks on the initiative before month-end. Venezuela earlier this week apologised to St. Lucia for leaving Bousquet and his official delegation stranded and unable to attend the PetroCaribe summit. |
